Curtis Sangster comes from a long line of hardworking and well-respected fisherman. Although a career on dry land had greater appeal, Curtis has built his business on the same values and work ethic that brought success to his father and grandfather.
After working in various aspects of construction and studying at NSCC, Curtis launched “Welcome Home Construction” in 2003. The company initially focused on new-home construction but moved into renovation market in 2005. In 2014, WHC added a dedicated roofing team to specialize in roofing in addition to renovations.
“My commitment to the community is the reason I own my own business,” says Curtis. “Owning my own business affords me the time and resources I need to give back to my community in a way that I couldn’t when I was working for someone else.”
Welcome Home Construction faithfully supports Teen Challenge (an addictions recovery center) Open Door (a care center for women facing the challenges of an unplanned pregnancy) and G-Roc (a program teaching life lessons to children & youth in low-income communities).
“We believe that strong families make a strong community,” says Curtis. Our slogan “Homes that Endure” signifies both our commitment to the enduring quality of our work as well as our passion for families that flourish.”
